This is not a comprehensive directory. It is a working list of tech-for-good organisations and opportunities I found while looking for places where I could contribute software, QA, AI, product, hardware, or related skills.

Last checked: 23 August 2026. I will add more as I come across more opportunities.

Notes

Better.sg

Better.sg is the clearest starting point for Singapore-focused volunteer software and civic-tech work. It is useful for software engineers, QA, data, product, design, strategy, documentation, and people who want to work with nonprofit partners.

Notable Better.sg projects include CheckMate for misinformation/scam checking, Schemes.sg for assistance discovery, and RecycleGoWhere for recycling guidance. Add later: onboarding flow, current high-priority roles, meeting cadence, examples of projects needing QA or AI help, active project maturity, tech stack, and reusable technical governance notes.

Engineering Good

Engineering Good is the strongest entry for volunteers 18 or above, makers, hardware people, accessibility, assistive technology, digital inclusion, and laptop refurbishment.

The 2026 volunteering page is linked directly above. Its ad hoc Laptop Maintenance programme looks like a lower-commitment option for people who want to help with practical device maintenance without joining a heavier project track. Add later: specific open roles from the Notion page, time commitments, makerspace access requirements, tools available, and whether non-hardware volunteers can help with documentation, testing, or digital literacy.

GoodHub SEA

GoodHub SEA is focused on digital volunteerism and tech-for-good projects across Southeast Asia. It looks relevant for people who want to build or support for-impact projects beyond only Singapore.

The GoodHub SEA site mentions volunteering, community meetups, and projects by volunteers. The Good Hack page is useful to watch for future public sign-ups, although the current 2026 run is closed. Add later: whether there are always-open volunteer roles, how project matching works, expected commitment, and whether there are Singapore-specific projects recruiting.

Maintenance Notes

Update this page when:

  • I personally check one of the organisations and can add more concrete information.
  • A new ad hoc or public volunteer opportunity opens.
  • A listed opportunity closes, becomes inactive, or no longer matches the purpose of this list.
  • I find another credible organisation that accepts public volunteers for tech-for-good work.
